![]() I will not spoil anything, but one thing I find interesting in the beastiary is that the protagonist (the character we play, Caradog McCallister) is almost aware he is in a video game, since he is aware that he dies again and again and always reincarnates like in a Groundhog Day loop. From what I gather from the trailer & store page, I'm pretty sure the protagonist entered the temple out of ambition to ascend to godhood. Marie-Clotilde Pardieux entered the temple looking for her brother. That's not quite right, but you're not entirely wrong either. ![]() But this is my speculation, and what i managed to piece together. The protagonist then make a deal with the dead gods, sending him on the journey to the temple, and put him on a quest to rescue the woman. Something cursed must have happened to the woman, taking her into the realm of the dead gods. My guess is that these two were a couple, and were either explorers or archeologists. Corruption builds in you with every step - encourage or ignore it, but each powerful curse can be a double-edged sword.Originally posted by NamThunder:There was a little bit of the story to the game in the bestiary, especially regarding the diary of a woman (I forgot the name) who I presumed to be related to the protagonist.
